I'm tethered, like a hog tied to a tree
Keep looking in the mirror but I can't see me
Days they come, days they go
Don't think I've ever been so low
Hey, you don't know the shape I'm in

I lost my faith a long, long time ago
I found more sense in my Uncle Joe
He pulled me close to him one day
And in my ear these words did say
'Hey, you don't know the shape I'm in.'

Don't blind me with science
Don't blind me with sin
Don't blind me with rainbows
You don't know the shape I'm in

I tell it like it is, but folks are blind
They never see the ruins they leave behind
The sun may shine, the wind may blow
I can't tell, I don't wanna know
Hey, you don't know the shape I'm in

2. The Shape I'm In
(McGowan) This is the title of a quite famous song written by The Band - but that's where the resemblance ends - because this is my song. I think I was depressed when I wrote it - maybe I was out of whisky.. -- Davy

I like this atmosphere Davy builds in his songs, like this one. Small movements, some clever riffs. Easier said than done. Or maybe it's not? -- Jore
